it was still daylight
wandering
from room to room
taking one last look
i tossed
one lit stick
of dynamite
into the living
room
and out the fire escape
i leapt
moving quickly
farther away
it was suddenly dark
as made my way
down main street
when the light flashed
the street rippled
and for a moment
i was lifted
off the sidewalk
and i heard glass
starting to fall closer
but by the time it hit me
it was only water
i looked back
no pillar of salt
and everything
was gone
